DJ Khaled Proposes to Nicki Minaj as Publicity Stunt: 'He's Not Attracted to Me,' Says Minaj (VIDEO)

DJ Khaled proposed to Nicki Minaj in a video that made rounds quickly over the Internet, and the hip-hop music maker appeared to be serious about the offer. Monday it was revealed by Minaj herself that the whole thing was a joke and a publicity stunt to promote Khaled's latest single, "I Wanna Be With You."

DJ Khaled's proposal to Nicki Minaj initially confused fans of both popular hip-hop music artists. The bizarre video was posted by MTV and retweeted by Minaj, who refused to publicly comment and even appeared with a similar ring to the one Khaled had in the video. Minaj finally responded Monday on Hot97 radio station.

"I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world, 'cause DJ Khaled is a master at what he does," Minaj told Funkmaster Flex. "Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, y'all. Please let it go. He was kidding … He's not attracted to me, he doesn't like me. We're brother and sister. He's a big cuddly bear."

Khaled's proposal, which included a $500,000 ring, seemed to be a serious attempt to get the hip-hop diva to marry him, but after analyzing the words he said during the video, it was revealed to be a publicity stunt. DJ Khaled's latest album, Suffering From Success, is due in late September and the single, which features Minaj, is called "I Wanna Be With You."

"I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you to be mine. I'm here at MTV because it's a worldwide network, and the only reason why I'm not telling you face-to-face is 'cause I understand that you're busy," the Miami rapper explained in the video.

"We got the same symptoms, we both suffering from success, you out there touring, you out there hustling, you out there making music, you out there winning," he continued. "I understand. That's why I feel like you need a man like me in your life that's gonna take care of you and respect you."
