Several social media posts have revealed that reality show star Willie Robertson has been spending time with Martin Dempsey, the highest-ranking officer in the U.S. Armed Forces and President Obama's key military advisor.
Robertson, who stars on the A&E reality show "Duck Dynasty," was photographed spending time with General Martin Dempsey, the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at a recent baseball game between the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.
Photos posted to Twitter show the two laughing as they watch the MLB game. Willie was joined by his wife, Korie, his brother Jep, and Jep's wife, Jessica, at Tuesday's game. Chase Hughes, a reporter for Comcast SportsNet, tweeted on Tuesday evening : "Willie and Jep Robertson from 'Duck Dynasty' are in the #Nats clubhouse today."
"Great to run into Martin Dempsey and the Duck Dynasty guys at [Nationals] Park. You never know who you'll see in D.C.," spectator Shane Hudella added in a tweet.
Another photo posted to Twitter shows Dempsey, Willie and Jep posing with members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Tuesday's pre-game ceremony honored Corporal William "Kyle" Carpenter, a retired marine who is receiving the Medal of Honor for taking the blow of a grenade to protect a fellow Marine while serving in Afghanistan.
Earlier this week, the Robertson brothers and their wives were photographed with Dempsey at Georgetown Cupcake, a sweet shop also located in the D.C. area. Also visiting the cupcake shop with the reality television stars and Dempsey was Adam LaRoche, who plays first baseman for the Washington Nationals.
It remains unclear if these recent sighting are related to the filming of the "Duck Dynasty" reality show, or if they are simply related to Tuesday's Medal of Honor ceremony at the Nationals' field. Dempsey, LaRoche and Robertson have all worked together before when they attended the 2013 USO Holiday Tour, visiting Greece, Afghanistan, Italy and Germany. The tour was organized by Dempsey and includes performances, hospital visits, and interactions with U.S. soldiers abroad.
This isn't the first time the Robertson family has rubbed elbows with high-ranking public figures. In the season 6 premiere of their show, Willie and the rest of the Robertson family had the opportunity to meet Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who visited the family on their property in West Monroe, Louisiana to award Willie the inaugural Governor's Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
