'Empire' Season 3 Episode 11: Nia Long's Giuliana Comes In-Between Cookie and Lucious; Angelo Proposes

The upcoming episode of "Empire" season 3 will see the drama between Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious (Terrence Howard) continuing as new players join the mix.

The synopsis for the next episode, titled "Play On," states that Cookie will feel guilty about her recent encounter with Lucious where the two ended up making out. Despite this, she will attempt to move on and focus on her relationship with Angelo (Taye Diggs).

Meanwhile, Leah (Leslie Uggams) goes to Tariq (Morocco Omari) to ask him for help. Anika (Grace Byers) has to be taken down and Leah cannot do it alone. Finally, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Tory (Rumer Willis) start recording their song in the studio.

A teaser trailer for the new episode has also been released. It starts out with Cookie admitting that she may not be able to break away from Lucious because he holds a certain power over her. Andre (Trai Byers), on the other hand, is setting up an investment deal in Las Vegas and he is teaming up with Giuliana (Nia Long) for it. However, Lucious seems wary of Giuliana's intentions and even calls her "very dangerous."

It is then revealed that Giuliana killed her own husband for Lucious. It is clear that Cookie does not like her at all. There is even a moment where Giuliana rubs it in Cookie's face that she and Lucious have something going on. And when Cookie points out how much she suffered for Lucious, Giuliana thanks her but says her services are no longer needed.

But it looks like Cookie has other things to worry about in the episode as well. She is seen being caught off guard as Angelo presents her with an engagement ring. It remains to be seen whether she will accept his proposal.

"Empire" season 3 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
