Game Director Todd Howard Reveals 'Skyrim,' 'Fallout 4' Still Get Millions of Daily Traffic Years After Release

In a recent interview, game director Todd Howard revealed that even if it has been years since "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and "Fallout 4" were released, the two titles are still getting millions of gamers on a daily basis.

Talking to GameSpot, Howard shared that the mentioned games are still thriving which is important, especially for "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," considering that it has been almost six years since it was released. It also proves that the game is able to maintain the franchise's audience despite the fact that a lot of players already want to know when "The Elder Scrolls VI" is going to be released.

However, despite the lack of new content for "The Elder Scrolls," the report noted that the release of the remastered "Skyrim" last year has definitely generated even more traffic for the game.

As for "Fallout 4," developers believe that its success can also be attributed to the continuing development of the game. Bethesda has put up recent updates for "Fallout 4" so the game can run to its optimum condition that PlayStation 4 Pro and PC rigs allow in terms of visuals and animation.

In the same GameSpot interview, Howard gave emphasis on Bethesda's focus in telling stories through open world games. The game director said: "How do we tell a better story in an open world? With each of our games we've had successes and failures and if you ask us internally, we have new ideas that we want to explore in the future because we feel like we haven't really cracked it yet the way we think it could be."

On the other hand, Howard reveals in another interview with IGN that Bethesda has a really packed pipeline with seven projects underway. According to the report, the studio is working on a mobile game and two titles that have already been "properly announced."

"We're always doing a lot of things, and once we get good momentum on something, that's what we'll focus on," Howard commented about the future projects of Bethesda.
