'Ghostbusters 3' Release Date, Latest News: Bill Murray Names His Picks for All-Female Cast

Veteran actor Bill Murray that he has no plans on appearing for a purported third installment of the iconic "Ghostbusters" movie. However, the 63-year-old "Lost in Translation" actor does support the idea of an all-female cast.

"It sounds great to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor! No, it's a grand idea, I don't know who they're talking about, but it's a good idea, I would watch it," Murray said recently.

His enthusiasm for the idea was further elaborated when he detailed out the names of the lucky ladies that he'd want to appear in the comedy.

"Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster," the actor told The Toronto Sun. "And Kristen Wiig is so funny — God, she's funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot, and Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."

Murray was recently spotted at the Toronto International Film Festival together with McCarthy, to promote their newest comedy-drama film "St. Vincent."

Wiig, on the other hand, was told about Murray recommending her for a role in the rumored movie.

"That's very flattering. I guess they're making one from what I hear, which is pretty great," Wiig told Yahoo! News.

"I will do whatever Bill Murray tells me to," she added.

"Ghostbusters 3," which has been subject of rumors for some time now, recently made progress when reports indicated "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig was rooted to helm an all-female sequel.
