Giuliana Rancic Post Cancer: Life Is To Be Enjoyed

Giuliana Rancic is a breast cancer survivor who adopted a new way of life having recovered from the disease two years ago.

Despite living in the spotlight with her reality television series and serving as a host on "E! News," Rancic has abandoned long hours in the gym and practicing careful eating.

"Life is to be enjoyed, not to be spent in the gym everyday and not to be counting your calories," said the 39-year-old television personality, according to HuffPost Live.

Rancic went on to explain that cancer survivors "go one of two ways" in that some become healthier post cancer, while others become more lax.

"What's so funny is I've changed quite drastically, the way I live and what I eat and how I exercise, but the opposite of the way you would think," she said. "Before I got the breast cancer I was actually pretty diligent about my diet and what I ate and I tried to eat very healthy foods and whole grains and tried to exercise every day."

However, today, Rancic admitted she had just eaten a sandwich in the car ahead of the interview.

"I eat lots of bread and different things and I don't exercise as much," she confessed.

Meanwhile, breast cancer was not the only hurdle Rancic overcame in recent years. The "Fashion Police" co-host and her husband Bill Rancic battled infertility issues and even attempted in-vitro fertilization before they welcomed their son, Edward Duke, via surrogate last year.

One month after their son arrived, Rancic gushed about motherhood.

"I knew it was going to be great, especially because we worked so hard at having a baby and we wanted a baby so bad, but it's even better than I expected," she said while speaking to Parade magazine.

"He's really opening his eyes now, and when he opens his eyes and stares at you for ten minutes at a time while you're feeding him, you just realize why there's that mother-son bond and I say to myself: 'How am I ever going to say no to this kid,'" she added. "He's got me. It's everything I had hoped for and more."

After grappling with infertility issues, breast cancer, as well as the happy arrival of their son, Giuliana and Bill Rancic remain happily married and are among the most popular couples in Hollywood today.

"I think the difference between us and a lot of these other couples is, from the beginning, our foundation was very strong," Giuliana said while on "Good Morning America" over the summer.

The couple and their son appear on the Style channel's series "Giuliana & Bill."
