'Grimm' Season 5 Episode 9 Spoilers: Ancient Wesen Ritual Wreaks Havoc In Portland

NBC's hit supernatural drama TV series "Grimm" Season 5 returns this week with a brand new episode that will find Nick and his cohorts on the hunt for a Wesen serial killer who uses an ancient Wesen ritual and is currently on the loose throughout Portland. Will Nick and the gang make it in time to save everyone from this new enemy?

Last week's showing introduced a Loch Ness-type creature called the Wasser Zahne. Though their unified efforts and with the help of Trubel, they were able to pin down the entity.

Their next assignment, however, appears to quite more dangerous for them to take. The synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the episode "Star-Crossed" speaks of a "barbaric Wesen ritual" being brought to the present. Since its emergence, Nick, Hank, and Wu are still quite clueless about the new case at hand. This will prompt the trio to call on Monroe's help. According to TFC, the latter will go undercover for this mission to track down the ritualistic killer.

In another development, Eve will once again prove herself useful in the cause to fight against Black Claw as she uses her unique interrogation skills on a suspect.

A promo video posted on YouTube previews some of the exciting events that are expected to take place in this episode. It opens up with Nick and Hank flabbergasted as they approach a dead body that is tied to a cross, with glass shards embedded onto the body's eyes. Another victim of the chilling crime was shown and a voiceover states that Nick may have to call on an "old love with new powers."

A brief glimpse of Nick and Juliette during their blissful moments was shown only to be replaced with a scene that features the latter, wearing a striking red wig, interrogating a man.

The person in question turns out to be a Wesen. Accompanied by Trubel, Eve begins to use her tricks on the man, telling him to "see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil." Quick flashes of Trubel and Nick were shown as they set forth on their respective missions.

"Grimm" Season 5 airs Fridays, at 9 p.m. on NBC.
