'GTA 6' Release Date News: On Gameplay, Plot, Maps, and Virtual Reality

Publisher Rockstar Games is known for bringing thrilling titles that are enjoyed by the gaming community. Popular for bringing "Grand Theft Auto" and "Red Dead Redemption" to life, Rockstar Games is facing a lot of clamor from the fans. Although they have recently announced "Red Dead Redemption 2," most of the fans are asking when they will be able to experience "GTA 6."

Although the details are scarce for the next installment in the "Grand Theft Auto" universe, the developers are pouring in all their energy on making sure that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is just as exciting as the fans expect it to be. As scarce as the information may be, there are a few teasers that slipped in the past few months.

"We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas", said "GTA" producer Leslie Benzies in an interview with Develop Magazine. "We've got about 45 years' worth of ideas we want to do. GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing 5 and then Online. Plus we have some things – stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly – that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones."

There are also rumors as to who might be the protagonist of the next "GTA" installment. Speculations indicate that Hollywood actress Eva Mendez has signed up to play as the main protagonist of "GTA 6," and that "La La Land" actor Ryan Gosling might be her companion. Although there is no official word from Rockstar Games, the team has already teased that the future installments of "Grand Theft Auto" may feature a female heroine.

Fans are also expecting that "GTA 6" will be virtual reality (VR) ready, especially since it is the current trend in the tech community. Furthermore, the lack of information could also be explained by the rumors, which indicate that Rockstar may be attempting to recreate the entire U.S. map.

"GTA 6" has yet to receive an official release date. In the meantime, the developers have made sure to make "GTA Online" as enjoyable as possible. This should help the fans survive the wait for "GTA 6."
