Apple seems to enjoy keeping all of its information on the iPhone under wraps. Despite the many rumors regarding the widely popular smartphone, the company has failed to confirm any of them. Today’s event will finally let the public know what Apple’s next smartphone will be like.

iPhone 4 Price Drop

America’s number one smartphone may see a significant drop in price since the successor to the iPhone 4 will be announced later today at Apple’s media event. There is no official confirmation that this will happen, but Apple will want to push as many iPhones out there as possible, and lowering the price on the iPhone 4 is a good way to boost sales even more.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Alternative

It seems like the hottest smartphone on the market right now is Samsung’s Galaxy S2 since it is arguably the most powerful handset out there, with its high resolution screen and 8 megapixel camera. The introduction of a new iPhone which can match up to the Galaxy’s specs will make the smartphone market a more even playing field.

iPhone 4S

The iPhone 4S is the likely candidate to be introduced today at Apple’s media event. The 4S is the updated iPhone 4 which will include iOS 5, an 8 megapixel camera, and come in three memory capacities including a 16GB, 32GB and 64GB version. The body will be identical to its predecessor, but in terms of power, the 4S should fare well against Android competitors.

iPhone 5

Most analysts are counting out the possibility of Apple unveiling the tear-drop shaped re-designed iPhone 5. But for those who have been following the case leaks and prototype incidents, there is still a glimmer of hope that a device sporting a larger screen, and a thinner, lighter look and feel, will be revealed by the tech giant later today.
