Jessica Simpson Predicts a Baby Girl

Jessica Simpson is expecting to buy pink for her new baby.

The mother-to-be is sure that she will be delivering a baby girl soon.

"I think it's a girl," said Simpson, 31, to People Magazine at the launch of her new clothing line in New York City.

She may not have to wait to long to find out the baby’s gender. According to Us Weekly, Simpson said she and fiancé Eric Johnson are finding out the gender of their baby on Monday.

Johnson, an ex-NFL player, was not going along with his bride-to-be's prediction though.
"I think it's a boy," he told People. "We're pretty much at a standstill there."

The couple’s conflicted predictions are to be expected, as this will be the couple’s first baby. After dating for several months, Simpson announced her engagement to Johnson in November 2010.
Even though Simpson is predicting she will have a girl, she is not betting it all on a motherly intuition. She is preparing for all outcomes.

"We have a couple names picked out for [if it's a boy or a girl], but we're going to keep that private," the singer told the magazine.

"I don't think we can wait," Johnson, 32, said to People. "Jessica is too honest about everything, she needs to know. I don't think she can hold that secret to herself."

On Oct. 31, 2011 after much media speculation, Simpson confirmed that she and Johnson were expecting their first child.

The singer recently flaunted her baby bump at the Footwear News Achievement Awards on Nov. 30, in celebration of her growing fashion brand.

Whether the baby is a boy or a girl, Simpson seems to be fine no matter the outcome.

"Pregnancy was meant for me - it really was," she once told People. "I can't wait to have more kids. I love being pregnant.
