"New ink album title," Gaga wrote along with the photo, which revealed "ARTPOP" written on the singer's right side lower forearm.

The nonchalant and unexpected Twitter reveal made a splash with "little monsters" everywhere. The album will be the follow-up to Gaga's hit 2011 album "Born This Way."

She later added to the title reveal.

"Make sure when writing about my new album /project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title, *its all in the details* good morning twitter," the singer posted.

Dubbed the "Queen of Twitter" with over 28 million followers, Gaga initially told fans she would reveal the new album's name in September. She also already revealed one track from the upcoming album, "Princess Die," while on her current "Born This Way Ball" tour.

The Grammy Award-winner rose to stardom after her first hit album "The Fame" in 2008. Pursuing her life-long passion for music, Gaga recently spoke about her critics in the industry.

"It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make a mockery of their work," said the New York City native at a concert in June.

"And that doesn't make me feel good at all," Gaga continued on stage ahead of performing her song "Hair."

"That just makes me feel like I'm not being a good human being … I don't even want to fight back because it's more important to me to keep writing music. Because that's really all I care about, is the music," she added.
