'Madam Secretary' Season 4 Spoilers: Henry to Defend Dmitri From Doubters

Henry (Tim Daly) is going to work hard to prove that Dmitri (Chris Petrovski) is now a loyal subject of the United States in the upcoming season of "Madam Secretary."

In one of the promos released for the new installment, Henry was shown trying to convince his colleagues in the Special Activities Division that Dmitri was not a spy from the Russian government. However, it looks like Elizabeth's (Tea Leoni) husband will have a tough time proving that his young friend is there to help and not cause more problems for the U.S. government.

The Americans' doubts on Dmitri's loyalty make sense. In the past, he was an active soldier for the enemy. It was only through Henry that Dmitri got out of his predicament and shed his old identity.

While Henry is dealing with the Dmitri problem, his wife will face her own share of setbacks. As spoilers indicate for the premiere episode titled "News Cycle," Elizabeth will find herself in the middle of an investigation on the sudden death of a visiting diplomat. When the assistant vice minister of Timor-Leste dies during a meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State at the U.N General Assembly, a huge controversy will arise. The Timor-Leste president will allegedly order for the dead man's remains to be brought back to their country without an investigation. This, in itself, is suspicious enough, but Elizabeth will soon discover that an even bigger problem will occur.

Rumors that the minister was murdered will reach the U.S. It looks like Elizabeth is being accused of masterminding the crime. This will explain why Chief Justice Wilbourne (Morgan Freeman) will reappear in the series. Elizabeth will likely face interrogation from the international community. President Dalton (Keith Carradine) may even order her suspension while there is an ongoing court hearing. The entire State Department is expected to be in an uproar over the boss' controversy. This time around, Elizabeth is in the center of the chaos, instead of the one trying to solve it.

"Madam Secretary" season 4 is scheduled to start airing on Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
