A man has killed a TV host in a shooting that has shocked local communities and fans of the popular TV personality.

It is reported that Gregory G. Rodriguez, who hosted TV's "A Rifleman's Journey" was shot dead by a man when he found him visiting his wife at her mother's home. It is unclear what the motive in the killing was, but the woman also beaten by the man in the incident.

Wayne Bengston, 41, is said to have traveled to his wife's parents home where he found his wife and Rodriguez. He shot Rodriguez dead before beating his wife. He then took his two year old son and dropped him off at a relative's house. The man then reportedly drove about 25 miles away to West Glacier and shot himself dead.

Rodriguez was reportedly in the area for business, but had stopped by at a house in Whitefish on Thursday night to visit Bengston's wife. It is not known what relationship the TV host and the man's wife had together or how they knew each other.

However, when Bergston turned up he apparently bursted into a violent rage and shot the "Rifleman's Journey" host dead and physically attacked his own wife.

The wife is then thought to have called authorities, and a manhunt was sparked to find Bengston. Flathead County sheriff's deputies later found his truck parked in his driveway, and a SWAT team was called to the scene.

However, after repeated efforts were made to contact the man in the house with no response, the SWAT team entered the house where they found Bergston dead with a gunshot wound to the head. Officials confirmed they believe it was a case of a self inflicted gunshot.

Rodriguez was a mortgage banker before founding Global Adventure Outfitters and operating as its CEO. He was also the editor of Shooting Times Magazine. According to The Associated Press, a representative of Global Adventure Outfitters confirmed on Friday that Rodriguez had been in Montana on business, but added that the organization would not be making a statement at this time.
