On New Year’s Eve, a fight broke out over singer Beyonce that ended in an Ohio man stabbing his friend.

The 31-year-old Ohio resident, Ronald Deaver, stabbed a Garfield Heights man outside an apartment after the two men watched a music video and argued over whether or not Beyonce was married to rapper Jay- Z.

Allegedly, the stabbing occurred around 11:00 p.m. because Deaver, of Parma, became upset that his friend, Mark E. Kozelka, did not know that the songstress was married to hip hop mogul Jay- Z.

According to Newsoxy, Kozelka became angry that the diva was no longer single and available. Somehow the argument continued outdoors, where it became violent and Kozelka was stabbed in the left side.

The 48-year-old victim and handy man was taken to the local hospital by two witnesses and when police arrived to the scene, Deaver had already fled. The Kozelka was transferred to MetroHealth Medical Center.

Currently, he is in stable condition.

According to Fox News 8, when police searched for the attacker at his apartment on Broadview Road a woman at the residence named Jennifer Fornari told officers that Deaver was no longer a resident.

The 31-year-old woman was distracting police from the assailant, who police discovered was escaping from a back window. Deaver was eventually located near the scene of the crime. Fornari was arrested and charged with obstructing justice.

A Parma Police Department Detective, Marty Compton, told Fox 8 News that Deaver was arrested and charged with felonious assault.

Beyonce, 30, has been married to 42-year-old rapper Jay- Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, for almost four years. They married on April 4, 2008 in a private ceremony.

People.com reported that a white tent was erected to cover the couple’s Tribeca, New York apartment to conceal the reception. The couple is now expecting their first child together, but they have not disclosed the date.
