New Orleans Saints Cornerback Sterling Moore Suffers Pectoral Injury, Status Against Panthers Uncertain
The New Orleans Saints already have the worst defense in the National Football League (NFL) early this season, and it seems the situation is unlikely to improve anytime soon.
The Advocate's Nick Underhill has reported that Sterling Moore has suffered a pectoral injury during their game against the New England Patriots this past Sunday and he may have to miss some time.
"It's currently unclear if he will be able to play. Moore is seeking additional opinions to determine the severity of the injury," Underhill said.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also confirmed that the seventh-year pro is dealing with a pectoral injury, and he added that it's not season-ending. The cornerback might have to miss a few weeks of action while he recovers, but he dodged a bullet because a torn pectoral could have sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
The Saints are already thin at cornerback with Delvin Breaux on the injured reserve list after he underwent surgery to repair a fractured left fibula, and now Moore may have to join him on the sidelines for a time.
The good news is that Moore actually participated in practice this Thursday. He was limited and his status for the match against the Carolina Panthers remains uncertain, but his injury probably wasn't that serious if he's already practicing.
"It's still unclear if he will be ready to play this week, but this is a sign that he shouldn't be out too long, if at all," Underhill noted.
If Moore misses time, De'Vante Harris should continue to play significant minutes. Underhill has also reported that the Saints have brought in cornerbacks Bradley Sylve, Trovon Reed and Demontre Hurst for workouts on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, prized rookie Marshon Lattimore's status for the game is up in the air as well after he exited last Sunday's game with a concussion. He didn't practice this week and he's still under the league's concussion protocol.
