Nexus 5 Release Date Approaches as Smartphone Appears in Retailer's Inventory

The Nexus 5 release date must be quickly approaching as the handset showed up in U.K. retailer Carphone Warehouse's database this week.

The device was listed as LGNexus5Whit confirming that the white version actually exists. The post also revealed that the retailer currently has 1500 units in stock, which proves that the official launch date can't be that far away.

The screenshot of the retailer's inventory was posted up by Android Police, who also stated that the retailer has 1500 black units in stock. However, the site did not put up anything to prove that.

If all this information is accurate, it would prove that Carphone Warehouse is currently carrying 3000 units of the device altogether and Google is attempting to cover all of its bases by not having its partners run out of stock with such a large shipment.

Many of the Nexus 5 rumors have confirmed the existence of both black and white models of the device.

New images of the white and black Nexus 5 models were posted up last week by @evleaks, a site that has been pretty reliable concerning news on these types of products in the past.

The white model in @evleaks photo is similar to the one spotted recently on an alleged Nexus 5 retail box earlier this month. The only part that is white on this version is the back plate. The front looks almost identical to the black model.

The site also posted up a tentative release date for the Nexus 5, which was revealed to be Nov 1. This seems to line up with a previous rumor stating that Google will finally unveil the smartphone on Oct. 31 as it could become available the very next day.
