You'd think women would be sick of it by now, but day after day, liberals try to remind everyone – in a passive-aggressive sort of way, no less – that they own women.

Strong words, I know.

And yet, what else does it say when liberals cry on political ad after political ad that there is a war being waged on women in the U.S.? And that this war consists of little more than a partial lack of completely free birth control? Oh yes…and of those who would like to stop mothers from hiring doctors to kill their unborn babies.

Liberals attempt to whip women into frenzy over these non-issues to buy their votes. (We see how well that worked this election.) They proclaim from the rooftops that women are "owed" free birth control as if it's the birthright of all women everywhere. They blatantly lie about pro-lifers, claiming that we don't see women as whole, equal, and unique people.

Very little that's claimed in the "war on women" rhetoric is accurate or helpful. The truth is that women do not need to claim their rights by spilling the blood of their innocent children. We are not "empowered" by walking over the bodies of our babies to obtain position and wealth and knowledge.

The truth is that abortion is violent, inhumane, uncivilized, and tragic. The truth is that ending abortion will bring equality to men, women, and children, instead of exalting women high above all other forms of human life. Women should be equal, absolutely. But we are not more deserving of rights and privileges than the rest of humanity.

We do not have the "right" to kill our children simply because we are women. Women's rights to privacy, autonomy, and the like have not earned us a "get out of jail free" card when it comes to ending the lives of our children.

And despite what liberals would have women believe, they do not own us. Here in the U.S., there is no war on women. Instead, it is our sisters in Iraq, Afghanistan, India, and China who truly suffer from a war on women. We find it disgusting and offensive when an employer who objects to paying for abortion or abortifacient birth control is put in the same category as those who gang rape, forcibly sterilize, stone, and dump acid on women around the world.

Thank you very much, liberals, but we women have intelligent brains, and you're not selling us on the message that America or conservatives are waging a war on us. Stop blabbing on about nonsense, and start talking about the real tragedies faced by women the world over.

Let's talk about real solutions to the rights that women are lacking across the globe, instead of wasting our time calling a "hello" from a man "street harassment. " Even if we bought your claim that verbal street harassment endangers American women, we're far more concerned about our sisters who can't walk down a Kenyan street without getting raped or our sisters who can't refuse to marry a man without being subjected to an "honor killing" in the Middle East. We're far more concerned about our sisters around the world who are being forced into child marriages and sex slavery. If you want to talk harassment, let's talk harassment.

You must think you own us, because you think you get to choose which women count – notably, only the ones who vote for your candidates. You think that you can object to the mathematical fact that the majority of women voted for Greg Abbott instead of Wendy Davis for Texas governor.

You reason that, since the majority of black and Hispanic women voted for Davis, it's inaccurate to claim that the majority of all women combined voted for Abbott…even though 54% of all women in Texas, when all races are combined, voted for Abbott. So since white Texas women don't fit your paradigm, you say they "failed." Simply for not being liberal, women fail?

Liberals, you don't get to define who women are, you don't get to choose who's a "real woman," and you don't get to manufacture your own facts. You don't own us like that. And you don't own facts like that. We aren't slaves to your ideology; we aren't subject to your latest whim.

Here are some actual facts and thoughts from experts, proving that liberals do not own women or our votes:

  • Despite an all-out liberal campaign, Texas women voted for conservative Greg Abbott for governor instead of outspoken abortion advocate Wendy Davis, 54% to 45%.
  • Even in much more independent-leaning Colorado, the extremely pro-abortion Mark Udall only beat known pro-lifer Cory Gardner by 6 percentage points among women. (Gardner went on to win the U.S. Senate seat.)
  • Democratic pollster, Celinda Lake asserted that claiming "Republicans are waging a war on women actually doesn't test very well…Women find it divisive…they don't like it."
  • A 2013 Gallup poll showed that 57% of women believe that abortion should be illegal in all or most circumstances, compared to only 40% who believe it should be fully or mostly legal.
  • Perhaps most entertainingly, a September 2014 poll found that, by a huge gap, the majority of voters believe that Planned Parenthood (America's abortion giant ) should not "be involved in running political ads for and against candidates." Democrat women opposed Planned Parenthood's ads by a 6% margin, Independent women by a 9% margin, and Republican women by a 45% margin. In fact, the only group polled who supported Planned Parenthood influencing voters in this way was Democrat men, by a 23% margin. That should tell women a whole lot about the views of liberal, pro-abortion men.

In the end, women must insist – by using our own voices – that liberals neither own us nor speak for us. Being a woman does not equal being liberal and pro-abortion. It never has, and it never will. Women are much more than that, and it's conservatives who believe in the real worth of women.
