'Peaky Blinders' Season 4 Spoilers, Release Date News: Possible Late 2017 Release

BBC's "Peaky Blinders" is already set for seasons 4 and 5, and the next season could release by late 2017. Filming the next set of episodes is expected to begin by March.

Cillian Murphy, who plays the role of Tommy Shelby, announced some details on the upcoming episodes. It is rumored that the new episodes won't be kind to Shelby — not that it would bother the character too much. Murphy describes him as a man who is not afraid of death.

The actor revealed the new direction of the show. "In the classic gangster arc, the last season was sort of all about the wealth, the house and all that material stuff ... This is sort of a return to the roots of sorts. That's about as much as I can reveal."

Season 3 left off with Tommy Shelby's wife, Grace (Annabelle Wallis), murdered at gunpoint by an Italian gang member right at the prestigious Shelby Foundation Ball. Tommy's son, Charlie (Wil Marwood), has also been abducted by Father John Hughes (Paddy Considine). Hughes announces that he already knows about Shelby's tunnel to the Russian vault and his sabotage of Hughes' train bombing plot. In exchange for Charlie's safety, Hughes wants the jewels and wants Tommy to blow up the train to kill at least six people.

Tommy finally rescues his son successfully and meets the Grand Duchess Tatiana (Gaite Jansen), who is also interested in the jewels that Tommy has liberated. The gang leader goes home to split the remaining jewels with his accomplices, then announces that the police are on their way.

The Peaky Blinders and the Shelbys are arrested and taken to prison. Thomas reassures them that they don't have to stay behind bars for long, thanks to a deal he has made.

While the airing date for the new season is yet to be announced, Cillian Murphy has hinted that the filming will begin in March 2017. If all goes according to schedule, "Peaky Blinders" fans can expect a broadcast date in fall of this year.
