Police Arrest Suspect for Murder and Theft in the PlayStation 4 Shooting Case

Police have arrested a suspect for the San Francisco shooting that left one dead as a PS4 transaction went horribly wrong.

The suspect is 21-year-old Ronnie Collins, and the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Ikenna Uwakah.

The two men arranged a meeting after speaking online about the purchase of a PS4. They arranged to meet in San Francisco's Bayview District. Uwakah was shot multiple times as he sat in the passenger of a car that his girlfriend was driving.

Collins then reportedly fled the scene, and Uwakah's girlfriend drove the wounded victim to San Francisco General Hospital where he died of his injuries.

According to SFGate, Uwakah was a part time student in college, and was the son of Nigerian immigrants.

"He had a lot of friends, and a lot of people liked him," Uzoma Uwakah, his sister, said to SFGate. "He was a normal kid, just trying to find his way in this world."

This is not the first gun related violence surrounding the purchase of a PS4.

Just a few days after the console's release on Nov. 15, there was a shooting between two men who met to work out a deal for the system.

Emmanuel Johnson was fatally shot on Sunday at the 700 block of West Church Street, according to The Orlando Sentinel. The other man involved with the shooting was hospitalized with gunshot wounds, and his name has not been revealed yet.

The two men were supposed to meet outside of Orlando's police headquarters on 4:30 p.m. according to the police report. It was then that one of the individuals changed to location of the meeting to Church Street. It was at this new location that the shooting occurred, but it is unclear who were the ones shooting.

However, police do not suspect anyone else was involved with the shooting and are still unclear about what really happened as they try and fit the crime scene pieces together.

Johnson was only 25 years old and the other man is 23. This was the first reported death associated with the PlayStation 4.
