'Quantico' Season 2 Episode 3 Air Date, Spoilers and Updates: Recap of 'Lipstick'; Did Miranda Betray Alex? What to Expect in Upcoming Episode

Is Alex Parrish getting betrayed again by someone she looks up to? "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 2 revealed that Miranda Shaw (Aujanue Ellis), Alex Parrish's (Priyanka Chopra) mentor back at the FBI, had alerted one of the terrorists that Alex was inside the building they were headquartered in. Worse, she'd ordered Alex to leave the emergency bunker and gather intel for her, which means Alex is basically walking towards imminent danger.

What went down

Before drawing conclusions, a quick recap of what went down in "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 2. In the future timeline, the First Lady is dead, while hostages were lined up as human shields against bullets and bombs across the terrorists' building. Alex Parrish is still trapped inside the terrorist building with the injured NYPD officer she had hauled with her inside.

Meanwhile, back at the present timeline in "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 2, it looked like Alex and Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin) had finally reconciled, since they just slept together. But Miranda came to tell them that they will both be getting separate handlers from now on. Alex got Shelby (Johanna Brady), while Ryan got Nimah (Yasmine Al Massri)

Owen Hall (Blair Underwood), on the other hand, had been teaching surveillance techniques to the class, and how to turn invisible if necessary. Harry Doyle (Russell Tovey) asked Alex if she'd have a drink with him in town which a flattered Alex accepts. But outside the CIA halls, she noticed her classmates tailing her. Lifting a page straight out of today's lesson, Alex evaded them - only to find that Harry had been the "Trigger" all along, the one who was supposed to keep her in sight all day.

Cycling out hostages

Back at the future timeline in "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 2, Ryan and Raina noticed that the Citizens' Liberation Front were cycling out the hostages and returning them, as some of the terrorists themselves get outside. To tell them apart, Raina scratches the wrist of one of the "terrorists," but the CLF did her one better. Soon enough, everyone in the room had the same wrist scratch. They didn't kill Raina, however.

Alex was still on her way towards the emergency bunker. She got a call from Miranda asking her to gather as much intel as possible and report back to her. At the same time, her former Quantico adviser had just leaked to the terrorists that she was in the building.

'Quantico' Season 2 Episode 3: Stescalade

Could Miranda Shaw have something to do with the terrorist plan? According to "Quantico" showrunner Josh Safran, fans wouldn't learn the answer to that yet in "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3: "Stescalade." But it's safe to assume that Miranda was just as shaken as Alex during the ordeals of Season 1, and these could be the driving force behind her mysterious actions now.

In any case, it looks like Alex is still alive for "Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3, "Stescalade." The official plot synopsis revealed that she'll be able to go undercover long enough to discover that not everyone is a stranger among the terrorists.

"Quantico" Season 2 Episode 3 will air Sunday, October 16, on ABC.
