Robert Pattinson Admits He's Moved on From Ex Kristen Stewart; 'Excited' to Be Single (VIDEO)

Robert Pattinson recently gushed about being single more than one year after his split from Kristen Stewart.

The "Twilight" actor, 28, is currently promoting his latest project "The Rover" and he was asked about his love life in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight." Pattinson split from Stewart, 24, last year in May and while the pair are still said to be friends they have no plans to reconcile.

For months Pattinson has been romantically linked to various women including his good friend Katy Perry, however, he confirmed that there is no truth to dating reports.

When asked about whether he is currently dating someone special, the British actor candidly replied "no."

The reporter pressed Pattinson to confirm whether or not he is single at this time to which prompted him to giggle.

"Yeah, so exciting!" he revealed.

The revelation comes weeks after Pattinson confirmed that he still speaks to Stewart, who be began dating in 2008.

When asked by The Hollywood Reporter whether he still keeps in contact with his "Twilight" costar he replied "oh, yeah," the website reported.

The revelation delighted "Twilight" fans, who have been holding out for a reconciliation between the pair for several months. Still, insiders maintain that Pattinson and Stewart have no immediate plans to get back together.

"Rob is beyond ready to cut the cord with Kristen," a source close to Rob told HollywoodLife.com.

"They were definitely in love, but the relationship has run it's course and he is ready to move on," the source explained.

The pair split in May last year due to issues stemming from Stewart's infamous affair with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders. In October they were photographed enjoying a dog date with their pets, however, the outing was only for their animals and they have not been seen together since.

"He keeps denying her requests to hang out because he doesn't want to give her the wrong impression that they are getting back together," another source said.

"He just doesn't want to," the source continued. "He wishes her the best, but he's interested in being single and working and living his life end of story."
