Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes Latest Pregnancy News: Surprise for Actor?

"Place Beyond the Pines" actor Ryan Gosling was allegedly shocked by the news of his co-star's purported pregnancy and the actor felt being "trapped" with the situation, according to reports.

A RadarOnline source claimed that among the people within their circle who knew about Eva Mendes' alleged pregnancy, the 33-year-old was the most surprised.

"It was completely unplanned. Ryan was surprised, especially because they had broken up early last year, only to get back together," an insider told the publication.

Inquisitr published a report to further point out the male actor's dismay with the turn of events. It even went on to say that the couple was actually in troubled waters with their relationship as they were constantly on and off.

The publication also mentioned the Canadian actor's feeling of being "trapped" in the ties as Gosling isn't still entertaining the thoughts of settling down, unlike his girlfriend.

"Their disagreements always came back to a central issue. Eva wants to marry Ryan, but so far, he has resisted," a source said.

However, "The Notebook" star's alleged aversion to commitment was quelled as he decided to oblige for the sake of their unborn child, Enstarz.com reported. But then, disagreements still follow as Gosling and Mendes have different plans for their nuptials.

While the 40-year-old actress prefers a secluded beach wedding ceremony somewhere out of town, Ryan Gosling doesn't want to travel.

"He wants a registry office in New York or LA. He doesn't want to travel," an insider told Heat magazine.

Throughout all the speculation, what is most affected is Mendes' health. Rumor has it that the "Ghost Rider" star is constantly feeling tired forcing her to remain on bed rest for the last weeks of pregnancy.

"She's following her own instincts - as well as expert advice - and spending most of her time in bed, which she intends to do until the baby arrives," the anonymous source said.
