Samsung Galaxy Note Edge vs Nexus 6 Review: Specs, Price and Features Comparison

Google has released an impressive phablet last year, the Motorola-built Nexus 6, and the handset's massive screen instantly sets it apart from the competition. Meanwhile, Samsung has taken the experimental route with its Galaxy Note Edge, a smartphone that is designed to set itself apart from the Korean company's other best-selling devices.

Here, we take a look at these two phablets:

Design:
The Galaxy Note Edge will take some getting used to as its asymmetrical shape and wraparound Edge display will definitely require you to navigate and hold this phone differently than you would any other handset. The standout feature of this phone is the screen, which curves on the phone's right side. The power button is located at the top edge. The device measures 5.96 x 3.24 x 0.33 inches and weighs 6.14 ounces. The phone is available in Black and White.

The Nexus 6 is bigger and heavier than most smartphones at 6.27 x 3.27 x 0.40 inches and 6.49 ounces. It takes its design cues from the Motorola Moto X. It has a curved back, an aluminum trim, and a branded M-dimple, for Motorola. The device is available in Midnight Blue and Cloud White.

Features:
The Nexus 6's display measures 5.96 inches and has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Pixel density is 493 pixels per inch, and videos and images appear vibrantly hued and well defined.

The Galaxy Note Edge comes with a 5.6-inch HD AMOLED display with 525ppi. Colors are stunningly vivid and accurate, and images are incredibly detailed.

The Nexus 6 will runs on the Android Lollipop, and the device gives the user a pure Android experience. Android 5.0 Lollipop's interface, Material Design, is showcased in the Nexus 6 and the interface is a delight as it is very animated, playful, and colorful.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note Edge runs on the Android KitKat 4.4. Samsung has also created a new UI to fit in with the Edge's new shape, and the company calls its new interface Revolving UI. Like a revolving door, you swipe your thumb towards the phone edge to advance, and to circle back to beginning.

Price:
Off contract, the Galaxy Note Edge costs $870 while the Nexus 6 costs $650.
