Sarah Jessica Parker to Replace Moore in 'Lovelace'

Sarah Jessica Parker has agreed to replace Demi Moore as Gloria Epstein in "Lovelace" after the star's health scare.

The "Sex and the City" star actress will play the activist and journalist who went undercover at the Playboy club in the upcoming biopic by Millennium Films.

Many reports indicated that the role of Steinem had been given to Mary-Louise Parker, but "Lovelace" filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Sarah Jessica got the part.

Parker, 46, will be joining the cast as the film just started production earlier this month. The film tells the story of Linda Boreman who was forced into pornographic films by her husband before she ended the marriage and started an anti-pornography movement.

"Lovelace" will star Amanda Seyfried while other notable actors include Hank Azaria, James Franco, Sharon Stone, and Juno Temple. The film is scheduled to premiere this year, with the release date yet to be announced.

Moore pulled out of the film after weeks of a public struggle to cope with rumors of Ashton Kutcher's infidelity as well as her divorce from the actor. The 49-year-old has been spotted looking especially gaunt at recent events.

The actress, who was rushed to hospital on Monday, is seeking medical help for "exhaustion" and other health problems. Her representative said in an official statement to TMZ that Moore needs professional assistant "because of the stresses in her life right now."

The rep continued, "Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."

Moore is reportedly being treated for anorexia as well as substance abuse problems. She is receiving the support of her friends and family as she recovers, including her three daughters and ex-husband Bruce Willis.
