'Sister Wives' Star Speaks Up About Her Catfshing Scandal

'Sister Wives' star Meri Brown finally revealed some more information about the catfish scandal she spoke about in the previous season of the series.

Fans previously experienced a dramatic episode when Brown told her family that she had an online relationship with a woman pretending to be a man. She had said that she felt the need to tell her family, as the woman who catfished her threatened to expose their story in a negative way. Now that it has been a few months since this was exposed, Brown was able to share more details about her online relationship and how she was tricked into it.

According to PEOPLE, she said, "It sounded like a guy with a southern accent. We laughed a lot. It was easy to connect with him, just because there was so much in common. He was very, very flirty with me. And I have guy friends and I am a little bit flirty too."

She then explained that their relationship became more serious when her online friend claimed that 'he' was in love with her. She also said that she kept trying to meet up with 'him' but 'he' would somehow flake on her. Instead, 'he' told her to meet 'his' friend Lindsay.

On her meeting with Lindsay, she said, "I was not comfortable around her. I just got the creeps from her. But I'm sitting here trying to be nice with her, because this is a friend of his. She basically told me, 'Don't ever screw with us. Don't mess with him. Don't hurt him. I will ruin your life. And I will ruin your family.'"

This then made her aware of the danger in pursuing the relationship. She said, "My family was very concerned for our safety and angry that we had been targeted. They were relieved once I told them what was really going on and saddened that I had been so afraid of involving them that I didn't go to them sooner."

"Sister Wives" airs on TLC every Sunday night at 8 p.m. EDT.
