The Xperia Z3 features a 5.2-inch display. It has a smooth, rounded aluminum frame with tempered glass panels. The device is relatively slimmer at 7.3 mm and lighter, weighing only about 152 grams. It is also dust-proof and can be submerged to water to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.

Specs of the new Xperia Z3 revealed to have a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM. It boasts a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and a 25mm wide-angle lens. Presented also in the IFA Berlin are the other variants of the Z3 including a 4.7-inch display version, and a 4.8-inch version that runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. Also seen is the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

One of the most intriguing features of the Z3 is its capability to connect the recently-launched PS4 Remote Play. It allows PS4 owners to use their consoles, via Wi-Fi, without a television set and instead utilize the Xperia Z3 screen.

Similar to the design of Samsung's Gear 2 Neo, SmartWatch 3 has a 1.68-inch 320 x 320 display and runs on the recently-released Android Wear operating system.

When it comes to the release date, it is reported that Sony's Xperia Z3 is coming to T-Mobile this fall while Verizon is rumored to sell the variant of the new flagship device at a later date.

"T-Mobile is lining up a killer hardware portfolio for fall with a selection that gives customers every opportunity to find the perfect device," the press release stated.

Verizon, on the other hand, still hasn't released any confirmation yet about the handset.
