'Supernatural' Season 11 Spoilers, Plot News: Castiel's Inner Battle and the Winchesters Face 'The Darkness' Personified

The new season of "Supernatural" is around the corner, and many fans can't wait to see their favorite brother duo back in action. Like every other season, the Winchesters are tasked to face a new adversary, but this time, it might not be the same like the ones they had before. It seems that not only is there no known information at all about "The Darkness," but there might be one man down.

According to TV Over Mind, new photos have surface showing Cas all chained up. For fans of the series, they are all quite aware that Cas is also struggling with Rowena's spell. Now whether Cas is under the influence of that spell while being chained and seemingly tortured is uncertain. The pictures show one of Crowley's demons inflicting pain on Castiel using an angel blade that would explain Castiel bleeding.

Furthermore, spoilers reveal that while the Castiel is suffering through this ordeal, Crowley will impersonate a priest and will have fun doing so. It hasn't been revealed what Castiel's intentions are, but it's definitely not good.

As for Sam and Dean's dilemma, The Darkness will apparently be personified by Amara, played by Emily Swallow. Due to the very limited information the Winchester brothers can get about the new big bad in town, it seems that they will be forced to make unholy alliances with some characters they've encountered during their adventures in the past. Of course it goes without saying that having to resort to this tactic will most likely influence the dynamics between Sam and Dean. It can be expected that Castiel will be too busy dealing with his inner battle of being Rowena's attack dog spell, before he is fit enough to rejoin the brothers in the ultimate battle this season.

Season 11 of "Supernatural" will be returning on The CW tomorrow, Oct. 7, at 9 p.m. ET.
