'True Blood' Season 6 Premiere Recap; Preview for Episode 2 (VIDEO)

Last night saw the return of HBO's popular vampire drama "True Blood." With last season ending and many plot points left unanswered, fans were anxiously anticipating the first episode of season six: "Who Are You Really?"

The episode began with a recap of the season five finale, but instead of just retelling the events of the last episode, the director Stephen Moyer, who also plays Bill, showed the audience another perspective.Bill became Billith once again but from his perspective, blood and all. Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) escaped, and it should be noted that the two were holding hands during their flee.

The end of season 5 left main character Sookie with an uncertain love life. In past seasons, the female lead has had relationships with both Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric. And at the end of season five, it seemed as if there was potential for a relationship between her and Alcide (Joe Manganiello). But perhaps the intimate fleeing from whatever Billith is serves as a clue to the rekindling of Sookie and Eric's romantic relationship.

As to what Billith actually is, things are even less clear. It seems Bill himself is unceartain. When Nora (Lucy Griffiths) and Sookie asked who he was, Bill responded, "I am Bill Compton. Though clearly, I am something more. I see that now. I see everything so differently now."

But don't think that means Sookie is willing to leave him behind. At the start of the episode, Sookie and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) talk romance, and Sookie admitted that "Bill was my first everything. Loving him is just in my blood now."

So, it seems the first episode left viewers with even more questions and cliffhangers. But that's not to say there was anything disappointing about the action-packed premiere.
