Upcoming Samsung Phones 2015: Alleged Galaxy J2 Appears in Indian Import Tracker, IMEI Database

Samsung may be continuing to saturate the Indian market with its Android smartphones, hoping that consumers from various market groups would choose its products rather than the hundreds of other models available in the country.

According to a report by Phone Arena, an unknown smartphone has just cropped up the IMEI database. Bearing the model number SM-J200F, the Android-powered smartphone has reportedly appeared in Indian website Zauba, which tracks imports and exports of the Asian subcontinent.

In the report, the only detail that is clear about the device is its 4.6-inch display, which places it in the entry-level category. Considering its size and the fact that it could be a budge smartphone, the report speculated that the Samsung phone could be the next-generation Galaxy J2.

Announced earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy J1 is an entry-level phone that packs a 4.3-inch screen with an 840 x 548 screen resolution, 512MB of RAM, and a dual-core CPU. While there are other decent features such as a 5MP primary camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth, the smartphone will definitely not fit the needs of more advanced Android users.

As for the unannounced and rumored Samsung Galaxy J2, some expected features include a similar design, hopefully a higher screen resolution, at least 1GB of RAM, and either an 8MP or 13MP primary camera.

Currently, the Galaxy J1 is priced at around $100, which means the J2 pricing could be a few dollars more.
