Xbox One Backwards Compatibility: Feedback Page Hints at Possible Games to Be Revealed for January 2016

Xbox One owners looking forward to playing more Xbox 360 games on their consoles may need not wait much longer. Xbox head Phil Spencer has updated fans regarding the status of upcoming Xbox One-compatible titles.

Asked about when news of Xbox One-compatible games will be released, Spencer replied:
"@HiddenStryder Have a couple more games doing the final run through on, wanted to wait until we had the full list, not too much longer."

Spencer, however, has not teased any title that will be included in this month's rollout of Xbox One-compatible games. But taking a look at the Xbox Feedback page for Backwards Compatibility, one can see which Xbox 360 games fans want to play the most on their Xbox One consoles.

Topping the list is "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" with more than 100,000 votes as of press time. This is followed by "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and "Red Dead Redemption." Here is the top 10 list of fan favorites with their corresponding votes:

1. "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" - 141,389 votes
2. "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" - 128,877 votes
3. "Red Dead Redemption" - 123,590 votes
4. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" - 113,514 votes
5. "Call of Duty: Black Ops" - 94,864 votes
6. "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" - 80,731 votes
7. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" - 76,121 votes
8. "Call of Duty: World at War" - 69,966 votes
9. "Mass Effect 3" - 68,080 votes
10. "Fallout: New Vegas" - 64,360 votes

Clearly, "Call of Duty" titles are the most wanted games among Xbox One players. But which among the six titles on the list are they sure to get? Only one. "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is the only title on the list that's been confirmed to have Xbox One compatibility.

Five other games have also been confirmed to get the Xbox One compatibility treatment. These are "Halo Wars," "BioShock Infinite," "BioShock," "BioShock 2," and "Skate 3."

But will Xbox One players ever get the games they want? There's a high possibility, but it's not guaranteed.

"We can't promise every title will be available, but we're working hard to make as many of your favorite Xbox 360 titles playable on Xbox One," Microsoft said.

Microsoft's Xbox One backwards compatibility program started in November with an initial 104 games. Last month, 16 more titles were added.
