A Degree For People Who Want To Lead

Over 100 years ago, leaders of The Wesleyan Church met to discuss a fundamental problem: their pastors and church leaders needed more robust training and education that better prepared them for all the facets of ministry.

Inspired by this need, Indiana Wesleyan University was founded. While the university has expanded its purpose to equip students for all kinds of marketplace vocations, today many look to IWU to prepare them for their call to ministry.

Aspiring ministers and lay leaders in the church often face a significant obstacle to maximizing their potential: they need relevant education and biblical training to prepare them for local church leadership. Churches need talent and discipleship resources to launch new ministries, engage their local communities, and develop effective disciples.

The role of Christian ministry leadership education

Are you searching for training and education that addresses the challenges of today’s ministry environment?

IWU recently launched two new undergraduate programs focused on Christian ministry leadership.

  • Associate of Science (60 credits)
  • Bachelor of Science completion program (48 credits)
  • Bachelor of Science (120 credits)

These programs offer highly affordable online ministry education rooted in effective leadership theory and practice. Courses help you learn to lead with strategic vision, multiply disciples, equip other church leaders, grow in spiritual maturity, and articulate theology in a way that transforms lives. You’ll be able to start applying your newly-acquired skills to your current ministry context and lead effectively both in local churches and non-profit settings.

The Experiential Learning Lab is a unique feature of the Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry Leadership that allows you to substitute 24 classroom credit hours with 24 credit hours of hands-on learning in a local church setting. Whatever path you choose, you’ll graduate with work in-hand that demonstrates your skills and knowledge.

Online ministry education has never been more accessible or affordable. Learn more about IWU’s online ministry programs today at .
