Congress Draws Criticism Over First Pro-Gay Caucus

[-] Text [+]

Conservative and pro-family groups spoke of an outrage Friday after a coalition of Republican and Democratic lawmakers joined to create the House’s first Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Caucus.

Democrats Barney Frank of Massachusetts and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin – the only openly gay members of Congress – were key backers of the new caucus and were successful in gathering bipartisan support for the new initiative.

Altogether, 52 House representatives signed on as members of the new caucus, including two Republicans.

House members and supporters of the new measure were optimistic of their future plans and what they said was their mission “to achieve the extension of equal rights” for all regardless of “sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.”

“With a Democratic majority in the House, we now have both the opportunity and the responsibility to move towards legal equality for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. This caucus will play an important role in helping shape the strategy by which we do this,” said Congressman Barney Frank in a statement.

Peter LaBarbera of the conservative Americans for Truth, however, blasted the decision by lawmakers to promote what he said was the homosexual agenda.

“It's just unbelievable that there are this many congressmen who are promoting homosexuality," LaBarbera said in a statement.

But worse, according to LaBarbera, are the inevitable consequences that would result because of the lack of organization and power among pro-family groups to oppose the agenda of gay advocates.

“[Pro-Gay supporters] have 'earned' this extraordinary total: 52 congressmen coming right out and saying, 'We are going to vote for homosexuality and transsexuality in Congress," he said.

    as I posted elsewhere...
I read that same article. I also saw the prejudiced presuppositions that went into it. I'd be interested to see others dupolicate this experiment.

There have been tons of studies that attempts to do what this study claims to have done and still were unable to indicate whether any difference was due to chicken or egg. Does acting a certain way affect the brain - studies show this is without a doubt true. So really, we are back to the same question, which came first.

And as for actions, one might be predisposed to act a certain way - for instance, predisposition towards addiction. This does not mean one has to act on that predisposition.

Interesting article, which I edited for space, but you can read the full article at: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/111663.php

Using scanning technology, researchers in Sweden found that the brains of gay men and women were wired differently to the brains of heterosexual people of the same sex, but were similar to the brains of heterosexual people that were of the opposite sex to them. Thus a gay man's brain was in some ways more like the brain of a heterosexual woman than a heterosexual man, and the brain of a gay or lesbian woman was more like that of a heterosexual man than a heterosexual woman.

The authors concluded that the brains of homosexual subjects demonstrated "sex-atypical cerebral asymmetry and functional connections". These differences could not be explained simply by "learned effects", and they suggested a "linkage to neurobiological entities".

A cognitive biology expert told BBC News that he believed these brain differences were decided early in the development of the fetus. There was no longer any argument, "if you are gay, you are born gay," he said.

The gay agenda has chip away for years at the will of the people and they are reaping their evil progress. Sad commentary to the church whose pulpits have laid quiet for years. The gay agenda has been successful in name calling and making great American people feel bad for their religious convictions. Calling anyone opposed to their agenda were labeled hate-mongers, bigots, homophobic etc..

Just think if we as Christians would be just as persistent in our agenda to win the world for Christ? The same cycle occurs in scripture over and over ... society looks to God and He blesses. As time goes by, society thinks less of God and more of themselves and He (after waiting patiently for repentance in most cases) sends down His wrath. Oh, how misguided the gay agenda; may God have mercy.

I'm not at all surprised by this. We as a Christian nation have simply become too tolerant of the secular and liberal agenda. As a result the liberals are moving full-speed ahead in their quest to remove God not only out of the government and our schools, but even our homes. I'm thinking God is soon to reveal His wrath.

I find it a little unnerving that they have time form a pro-homosexual caucus and find supporters but not find time to allow alternate forms of fuel to be mass-produced here in America, along with other economic issues that aren't going away.......no we have to spend our time promoting an alternative stance for morality. . .not gov't business but everyone's personal business

Does anyone truly believe that the first thing on the adgenda of the Nancy Pelosi's next session's first 100 days will NOT be the 'Hate Crimes' legislation? Especially if we have a President Obama in the White House!

It wasn't Republicans in the plural, it was one Republican and 51 DEMONCRATS.

I personally hope that we can ammend the Constitution to outlaw Gay Marriage, Gay adoption and Sodomy. We are the Christian agenda and guess what the Good book says we win. Sorry, but thanks for playing.

The word Of God say's In Leviticus 18:22 you shall not lie with a male as with a women. It is an abomination! People are not born gay, it is a choice! It Is Sin! Romans says therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves. Christ Call all to repentance, to be saved from hell.

But don't stop those "Christians" from meeting together! What about the "Christian agenda?"
