'Boy Meets World' Cast Wedding: Rider Strong Getting Married

Former "Boy Meets World" star Rider Strong is set to wed longtime girlfriend Alexanda Barreto.

Known as the cool best friend Shawn Hunter on the popular children's show, it appears actor Rider Strong is well into his adulthood.

"I'm incredibly lucky to be getting married to my best friend and partner-in-crime, Alexandra Barreto," Strong said to ABC News in a statement of the Oregon wedding.

The wedding will be far from the typical celebrity affair, as Strong explained.

"We're tying the knot at a summer camp in Oregon … everyone sleeping in bunks, a ropes course, games, a talent show … let's hope it doesn't rain too much," the former child star said.

It appears that Strong is something of a romantic, as he gave his soon-to-be bride a homemade wedding ring.

"I spent weeks making the ring in secret," Strong said. "I carved the ring out of wax, cast it in white gold and had my dad make a wooden ring box for me. My dad made my mom's ring, so I was following in his footsteps."

Rider Strong played the role of Shawn Hunter on "Boy Meets World" from 1993 until 2000. In a previous interview with Vanity Fair, Strong spoke about of being a child actor and trying to break into filmmaking as an adult.

"I think it's easier to get my foot in the door, but it's harder to be taken seriously once I'm there. So I think that getting crew, for instance-people will meet with me. They go, 'Oh, he's actually legitimized in some ways. He's part of the industry; he's successful in some areas so I'll meet with him.' But once I meet with him and they know the show, I'm just a child actor trying to do something else. So I have to prove myself against that," Strong said.
