'Dragon Ball Z' 2015 Movie News, Update: First Image and Details Revealed

After Toei Animation's "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods" comes yet another highly-anticipated anime movie titled "Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F."

Dragon Ball Z's celebrated character and story creator Akira Toriyama revealed that the "F" in the title is no other than Frieza, a ruthless villain in the DBZ canon who is responsible in the deaths of Son Goku's friends as well as the devastation of several planets.

Toriyama, as reported, is also behind the movie's production where he is overseeing the screenplay, conceptualization and design of the characters in the film.

Recent talks also pointed out to the first released promotional image for the upcoming anime title in the January 2015 issue of Shueusha's V Jump magazine in Japan.

Anime News Network, who first reported the news, detailed out the key visuals of the 2015 DBZ film.

"The image features not only Frieza, but Beerus, the villain from last year's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods," the site said.

Beerus, as featured in the previous title, is known to be the God of Destruction of the seventh universe. His purpose is to "maintain the balance" within his realm by which he do so by "destroying planets."

Will he be on Son Goku's side or will he stand with the villain Frieza?

The website further noted that "Fukkatsu no F" will premiere in Japanese theaters this coming April 18, both in 2D and 3D cinemas.

Here is the synopsis of "Fukkatsu no F" provided by the magazine and cited by ANN:

"An Earth where peace has arrived. However, remnants of Frieza's army Sorbet and Tagoma (from the Japanese word for 'egg') arrive on the planet. Their goal is to revive Frieza with the dragon balls. Their dastardly wish is granted, the 'F' that plans its revenge against the Saiyans is revived...!"
