'How to Get Away With Murder' Season 2 Spoilers: Wes' Past as 'Christophe' Will Be Revealed

The winter finale of "How to Get Away With Murder" literally ended with a bang, as secrets were finally revealed. Wes (Alfred Enoch) shot Annalise (Viola Davis) in a fitting rage, (even if they originally planned to shoot her) after Annalise confessed that she knew that Rebecca (Katie Finlay), Wes' girlfriend, is dead. After shooting the famous defense attorney, Wes heard Annalise saying, "Christophe," which apparently is his real name, and fans are curious if the show will tell more about his backstory once returns in February.

Pete Nowalk, the creator and executive producer of the show, sat down with TV Line for an interview recently, and he was asked more details about Wes' childhood. In the last episode, it was revealed that Wes' mom killed herself, and many fans are speculating on the "truth" behind her death. Nowalk was asked whether it's actually Wes that killed his mother, and Eve (Famke Janssen) and Annalise covered it up. "We're not that far ahead of you guys [in the writing process]. We're asking the same questions, but we have a theory right now and I think it's pretty cool," the EP said.

When asked on how will Wes now attend class and work with Annalise after he discovered the truth about Rebecca and learned that Annalise knew him as "Christophe," Nowalk said they are working on it now. "It's a big messy soup — and we can't answer all the questions at once. We will parse them out in a way you're not overwhelmed," he said.

On the other hand, Nowalk also answered what happened to Philip (Jefferson White) since he was nowhere to be seen after viewers saw him walking away from the motel where Catherine (Amy Okuda) was staying. "That Philip is tricky. They have a crazy chaos plan — to have the crime scene make no sense," Nowalk said. The executive producer admitted that they have not written anything past episode 11 yet so they hope to close all loop ends, as much as possible.

Up until now, a lot of questions are still left hanging even with an explosive midseason finale from "How to Get Away With Murder," like who's the one responsible for the death of the Hapstalls, as well as what Asher (Matt McGorry) confessed to the police when he said he wanted to make a statement. Fans will just have to wait until the show comes back on Feb.11 on ABC.
