Justin Bieber insists that he is not having a meltdown despite media reports as of late.
Bieber, the 19-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter, is speaking out about rumors concerning his most recent behavior. The singer recently revealed that some people's misconceptions about him are upsetting.
"The biggest misconception about me is that I'm a bad person," Bieber told Us Weekly recently. "I get upset about that. I have a big heart. I want to be a good role model, but some people want me to fail."
The singer cleared up some of the misconceptions concerning him angering fans after he arrived to a concert in the U.K. close to two hours late earlier this month.
"I passed out from the flu," Bieber revealed to Us Weekly. "The worst thing to me is disappointing my fans -- we only had five songs left-- so they gave me oxygen, and I decided to finish the show and then go to the hospital. The show must go on."
Before his bout with the flu, rumors swirled about Bieber being booted from a nightclub because of actor Will Smith's 14-year-old son Jaden. Although Bieber defended himself on Twitter, he appeared in headlines for a reported dispute with his neighbor that left authorities investigating his involvement in battery, according to TMZ reports.
However, the singer said he refused to let the negative media reports overwhelm him.
"I know who I am and I'm not gonna let negativity towards me bring me down. I'm a positive person and I plan on staying that way," Bieber told Us Weekly. "This business can break you down, but I have a strong team around me, and my family and all the fans. The love overcomes the negativity. I'm not perfect but I'm growing and trying to be better every day. That's part of life."
