The G Flex does not feature any special software that caters to the Flex display, according to Android Authority. However, it does come with tilting wallpaper and different unlocking effects when the screen is touched in different places.

The device's main appeal is that it provides a better experience for watching video. Users also have the ability to turn on multimedia apps directly from the lock screen, and have better ergonomics for phone calls.

The LG G Flex is expected to be released through all three major South Korean mobile operators sometime in the middle of next month. The phone has not received an international release date at this time.

There are also no details regarding pricing for the device yet. That information should be available sometime in the near future.

LG will follow in the footsteps of Samsung who introduced the curved Galaxy Round earlier this year.

Smartphones with bendable displays have been in the works for a few years and have finally surfaced in the form of these two devices. Samsung also introduced a curved OLED television recently.
