Oklahoma City Thunder vs Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 of their NBA 2014 Playoffs Round 1 series takes place on Saturday night, and will be the fourth of four game featured in the NBA Postseason today. The game will take place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City and will start at 9.30 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on TV on the ESPN network or online through free live stream (details below).
The No. 2 seeded Thunder ended the season with a 59-23 record and will be favorites to defeat the No. 7 seeded Memphis Grizzlies who closed out the regular season on 50-32.
Last season many were touting the Thunder as the team to beat, with many analysts claiming that they would go all the way and win the title.
Things looked good too; they closed out the regular season as the No. 1 seeds and were cruising, until Westbrook went down with a knee injury in Round 1.
With Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook together, the Thunder can beat anyone on their day. However, last season without Westbrook then ended up getting knocked out by the Grizzlies in the Conference Semi-Finals.
The Thunder will want to rectify that loss this season, and they have been given the chance to gain revenge over the Grizzlies in Round 1 of the Playoffs.
Things are different this season; Westbrook is firing on all cylinders, and Durant is in amazing form – on a par with the likes of LeBron James.
Whether the Thunder can be a team that can finally step up and win the Championship this season, or whether they will become a "nearly" team, condemned to repeated Playoff disappointment, remains to be seen.
