Rihanna, Dane Cook Dating Rumors 'Completely Untrue,' Says Rep

Rihanna has denied a report claiming that she is dating comedian and actor Dane Cook, with the singer is still said to be dating Chris Brown.

A bizarre report in The National Enquirer linked Rihanna, 24, and Cook, 41, romantically Monday. Some critics have alleged that the tale was possibly an attempt to get a reaction from Brown, 23.

"[They] have been pals for years, but their friendship has heated up in recent months because Rihanna wants to show Chris that she's still a hot commodity," an anonymous source was quoted as telling The National Enquirer.

"They flirt like crazy, and Dane regularly sends Rihanna flowers and gushy emails," the alleged source continued. "Rihanna's friends all think they're carrying on a romance, but she's very secretive about it. She wants to keep everyone guessing, including Chris."

A rep for Rihanna immediately shut down the fictitious report, describing it as "completely untrue," according to MTV U.K.

In January, the "Diamonds" singer confirmed that she and Brown, who assaulted her in 2009, had reconciled. While the couple's relationship has been up and down over the years, they are said to be content in their relationship.

"When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now," Rihanna told Rolling Stone magazine.

"We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about s---. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that," she explained.

In February, it was claimed that the tumultuous couple was planning an extravagant wedding allegedly set for July, but those reports remain unconfirmed.

"They want tattoo artists, fire breathers and a near-naked waitstaff. They're even talking about having pre-rolled joints at the reception," a source told Star magazine.
