In chapter 4 of Ephesians, Paul exhorts the believers in Ephesus to pursue unity in the body of Christ and take hold of the new life they now have in Jesus. Verse 29 is a renowned message about ensuring the words we say are uplifting:

"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." (ESV)
