Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet Introduced With 10.1-Inch Full HD Display, Release Date Confirmed

The Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet was introduced to the public earlier this week.

The iPad competitor is the company's first official Windows RT tablet and functions as an extension to the Lumia family, according to Nokia. The device features an ergonomic and lightweight design that has thin edges for an easy grip along with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The tablet will launch in both Red and White with a glossy finish as well as in Black and Cyan with a matte finish. It runs Windows RT 8.1 which is the latest build of the software and corrects many of the problems users found in Windows 8.

Specifications on the Lumia 2520 include a 10.1-inch full-HD IPS LCD display with enhanced outdoor readability, a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, a 6.7-megapixel rear camera with ZEISS optics, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 8000mAh battery.

The tablet comes with numerous preloaded apps that are exclusive to Lumia devices such as Dragon Adventures, which is an interactive video game developed by Nokia in partnership with Dreamworks Animation. It also comes with Nokia Storyteller that was developed by the company to organize images into stories on an interactive map by date and place and Nokia Video Director, which offers users the ability to edit recorded videos as well as content from Nokia Lumia smartphones. The tablet also comes with preloaded versions of Microsoft Office, Outlook and an exclusive version of Nokia Music with Mix Radio.

The display on the Lumia 2520 allows for enhanced outdoor readability and it's built using Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for durability purposes.

The tablet will be available in Q4 2013.
