'Pretty Little Liars' Season 5 Spoiler, News: Writer Teases Mid-Season Premiere

The hit teen drama TV series "Pretty Little Liars" is now closing in to air the second-half of its 5th season and spoiler reports suggests that fans will not only get to see once again their favorite Rosewood girls but they'll also get to find closure on some of the show's main mysteries. Here's what we heard:

PLL writer Lijah Barasz recently revealed some upcoming twists and turns of the show for 2015.

Referring to the recently-released promo featuring Mona's mom slapping Ali, Alloy Entertainment asked Barasz about the confrontation.

"Everyone has his/her own theories about who killed Mona, including her mom. Clearly, Mrs. Vanderwaal does not want Ali at the funeral and has a few choice words for the suspected murderer," Barasz told Alloy Entertainment.

She described the situation between Emily and Paige now that they have reached that point in time where they have to go in separate ways.

"Emily is not at all ready to let her go, and they have some really beautiful, heartbreaking scenes (written by Joe Dougherty). Paily has an emotional, hard-won kind of love, and it's not something either girl will just get over and forget about. Not to mention, anyone who comes after Paige has a lot to live up to," Barasz explained.

Back to Mona's death, the writer indicated that fans need to watch out for that grand revelation.

"There might be a funeral, but that coffin is empty, and there's no real closure. Even if you logically know there's no way Mona survived the attack because of the amount of blood loss, it's hard not to hold out hope. Which is probably why 'A' hid Mona's body — hope can be its own form of torture," the writer revealed.

Viewers will find out more when "Pretty Little Liars" resumes with its winter premiere this Tuesday, Jan. 6 on ABC Family.
