Teacher 50 Shades of Grey Incident: Mom Demands Teacher Be Fired for Buying Book for 9th Grader (VIDEO)

A teacher who bought a 50 Shades of Grey book for a student is receiving huge criticism from parents and if they get their way he could be fired, according to reports.

There is currently huge buzz about the upcoming movie adaptation of the popular book, however, teacher Philip Aidoo from a Philadelphia charter school has come under fire for buying the novel for a ninth grader in his class.

The teacher has claimed that he was unaware of the content of the book, but the teenager's mother is not buying it and wants him to be fired, according to the Daily Caller.

The teacher has said that he made online purchases for numerous novels as gifts for his students based on their "Wish lists."

However, when one mother found her son in possession of the 50 Shades of Grey book she was furious.

Maya Ladson has said: "This is not okay to me. This is major."

She has filed a formal complaint with officials at Officials at Eastern University Academy Charter School.

In the complaint she questions the teacher's motives in buying the book and believes it was wholly inappropriate for him to buy the book for her son.

The mother has said, "It clearly states on the cover that the book is for mature audiences and has high sexual content. This was a 100-percent act of negligence. There should never be pornographic material purchased and distributed to a student by a school teacher."

It has been reported that some officials at the school have apologized for the incident but have also described it simply as an "unfortunate mistake."

Yvonne Turner, the school's chief operation officer, has said, "Unfortunately, Mr. Aidoo did not have an awareness of this popular book and ordered it with his own money."

That response was not enough for the mother and she is now pushing for the teacher to be fired.
