Anaheim won their final game of the season, a 2-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes, to end in a positive note after dropping two straight losses to the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars.

Meanwhile, the Jets are the fifth of seven teams to qualify for the post-season from the Central Division.

They ended the season with 99 points, beating out the defending champions Los Angeles Kings by four points.

Winnipeg went on a surge in the last five games of the season, winning four of those games while securing at least one point in those final five.

The only blemish was a 1-0 penalty shootout loss to the Avalanche.

Anaheim and Winnipeg met three times this season, with the Ducks completing a regular season sweep. However, it was not as dominant as it sounds as two of those three had to be decided with extra periods.

Their first meeting was at Winnipeg, where the Ducks won 4-3 thanks to an overtime goal from Kyle Palmieri. In that match, they surrendered the lead twice but avoided giving the extra point to the Jets.

The second meeting was a dominant win for the Ducks as they won 4-1. Bryan Little opened the scoring for the Jets as they led after one period. However, three goals in the second frame turned things around in favor of the Ducks.

In the last match, it ended in a 5-4 penalty shootout win for Anaheim in a back-and-forth battle, with only Sami Vatanen's goal in the shootout to separate them.
