Texas House LGBT caucus honored trans activist connected to cult murder
In November 2023, the Texas House LGBT Caucus tweeted a list of names with the hashtag “#saytheirnames,” including 31-year-old Emma Borhanian, who was killed in 2022 while allegedly attacking a landlord in a dispute.
Curtis Lind, 82, was killed just before he could testify in a violent 2022 attack during which he was impaled with a sword and blinded in one eye. According to SFist, Bournhanian and two others were armed with the “intent to dismember Lind and dissolve the body in a vat of acid, which they had apparently already prepared.
During that attack, Lind shot and killed Borhanian and wounded another person in what was later ruled as self-defense.
Borhanian was also one of four people arrested in 2019 in a protest against the Center for Applied Rationality (CFAR) near Berkeley, California. The group, which included "Zizian" cult leader Jack LaSota, was described as wearing “black robes, gloves and Guy Fawkes masks” at the time of the arrest.
