5 notable reactions to violent riots roiling France: 'They're destroying that country'
1. President Trump: 'France is burning!'
President Donald Trump blamed the riots on Europe's years of mass immigration from hostile foreign cultures, which he framed as a danger to Western civilization that also threatens the United States.
When unrest began to boil over in France earlier this month, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Oct. 6: "What's happening in France is nothing less than out of control mass migration. This isn't about schools, this is about Islam wanting to take over a once great Country!"
"France is burning!" Trump wrote in another post on Sunday. "The immigration of people from an entirely different world, people with hatred in their hearts, has shattered a once great country. Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late!"
Trump touched on the topic again during Monday remarks at a midterm campaign rally in Park City, Kansas, offering the riots as a warning to Americans about the consequences of left-wing, open-border policies.
"If you want to see what is at stake in this election, just look at what's happening in France — a once-great nation that is being conquered, looted and burned to the ground by migrants, jihadists and communists who hate Christianity. And they hate, frankly, the Western civilization itself," he said.

Trump went on to blame "globalist left-wing politicians" who have "treasonously imported millions and millions of third-world migrants who are totally incompatible with the West, and they are incompatible with Western values."
"They despise everything about France, and they're destroying that country, and we're not going to let that happen to this country," he added.
During remarks in the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump argued that mass deportation of "insurrectionists" from France is the only solution to its upheaval.
A Fox News Digital investigation published earlier this week found that of the 54 organizations and movements in France's student protests, only 16 are student or youth organizations, including communist youth groups and a Muslim student association. The remaining 38 reportedly include "adult-led communist groups, labor unions, political parties, revolutionary-left organizations, advocacy groups and international propaganda outlets."
