Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

Graham, who has developed a reputation as one of the most hawkish members of Congress, took to Twitter Wednesday night to praise "one of the most inspiring speeches to a joint session of Congress" he says he has "ever witnessed."

Expressing gratitude that Ukrainians were "determined to never surrender their freedom to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's Russia," Graham declared that "it is in America's national security interests for Putin's Russia to be defeated in Ukraine."

"To forgive and forget all the war crimes being committed by Russia in Ukraine destroys the Rule of Law as we know it, and allowing Putin to successfully take territory of a sovereign neighbor destroys world order as we know it," he added. "I am proud to support #Ukraine."

Graham insisted that Ukraine was "not asking for American soldiers to do the fighting" but rather seeking "weapons and economic assistance so they can stay in the fight." He concluded by asserting that "Ukraine's victory is our victory" and proclaiming, "God bless Ukraine!"
