An Amtrak train collided with a tractor-trailer Monday morning, causing an eruption that set both moving vehicles on fire. The crash which occurred at 11 a.m. ET killed the truck driver and split the truck into two separate parts reports MSNBC.com.

An eyewitness has reported to MSNBC that skid marks were seen on the ground following the crash, and this seems to indicate that the driver was attempting to halt his truck before the fatal crash occurred.
