Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Rolling Out for T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Note; Update Amounts to A Hefty 1.1GB
Following T-Mobile's release of the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the U.S. mobile carrier announced that they are now rolling out the latest firmware for Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
The update, according to a report from Phone Arena, calls on a hefty amount of 1.1GB of file size. The site added that T-Mobile won't allow users to use the mobile data connection to get the sweet update. Instead, users have to rely on a steady Wi-Fi network to grab the Lollipop OS.
As indicated by the report, the new mobile operating system will update the Note Edge to the 5.0.2 version of the Android Lollipop with baseband version N915TUVU1COD7.
The Over-The-Air update is currently rolling out in the mentioned network. The site, however, noted that this could also mean that it will take time before the update could arrive on your Note Edge.
For those who can't wait to get their units overhauled to the new Lollipop look, they can go to their device's Settings, then to the About Device section, and then click on the Software Update to check if it's already available.
For those who wish to do it themselves, they can visit the official T-Mobile support website to download the firmware update.
Instructions on how to get and install the software update via a computer is also provided by the network which includes downloading the most recent version of the Samsung Kies.
When successful, a host of new features await the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. To mention a few, there's the Material Design-inspired TouchWiz user interface, an improved and more functional lockscreen, as well as the enhanced Smart Lock feature.
