Android Lollipop to Be Available on Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 Sometime in Early November

Google's latest mobile operating system, the Android L or Android Lollipop, is already out and released but only on Google's newest smartphone the Nexus X (Nexus 6) and its latest tablet, the Nexus 9. For the rest of the Android phone lines of all makes, users may have to wait until the OS is prepped.

Since Android L is from Google, one might expect that the first to get the OS (apart from the Nexus X and the Nexus 9) will be the Nexus line of phones namely the Nexus 4, the Nexus 5, the Nexus 7, and the Nexus 10. Sure enough, there's already developer images of the OS available for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7.

Before rushing to Google Play to upgrade to Android L, note that what's released for the two mobile phones are developer previews of the OS and not the actual public release so don't expect anything. Also, if you're planning to install it on your Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 devices, make sure to back up your data as there's no guarantee that the OS won't wipe your data after or during installation.

Still, there's already a rumored release date of the public release version of the Android L and is set for Nov. 3 for the Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi), and the Nexus 10 via an OTA. Later in the same month, the release will be rolled out to the Nexus 4, the Nexus 5, and the Nexus 7 (LTE).
